Mi Italia

I have built a strong connection with Italy for many reasons; My early memories related to Italy are of my father coming back from months-long work gigs in Italy, where he would drive a bus with a group of musicians and dancers performing at various towns around Italy. I couldn’t tell what was better the stories or the treats he brought with him. As an adult, I visited many times The Boot and I was able to harvest my own stories and experiences. The first trip I took was to visit the “floating city” of Venice. The Eternal City of Rome had me at “ciao”, which I visited a number of times. I celebrated capodanno in the hills of Abruzzo — the best New Year’s I’ve ever had. I’ve traversed the coastline of the magical Cinque Terre. The last time I visited Italy was in August 2021, the pandemic didn’t deter me, and I was more than eager to rediscover the beautiful regions of Puglia and Basilicata.
